Katahdin Hair Sheep
Here at Meetze Farms, we believe in rotational grazing, which benefits the animals, the land, and the farm's overall health. During the winter season, we keep our sheep on a small 1-acre plot and provide them with horse-quality hay and All-Stock feed. All our sheep are healthy and fat. During the spring, summer, and fall months, we allow them to graze our wooded 10 acres in the back, which is protected with a 3-strand hotwire fence. We only deworm them when needed, which is few and far between. We chose Katahdin Hair Sheep because they're a breed you do not have to shear, their coats fall off naturally in the Spring and return in the fall. They are a very large breed sheep, some of our Ewes are close to 300ibs.
